On June 21, 2007, the legislature voted to pass A-5005 (Roberts)/S-3004 (Scutari). This legislation makes several changes to public employee pension and health benefits plans. This new legislation codifies NJEA's agreement with the Corzine Administration that was shared with you several months ago.

Please be aware that beginning with the first paycheck in September, employee pension contribution deducted from each paycheck will increase by .5% to 5.5% (Please note that neither the district or EACH have any control over this increase - pensions are controlled by the state NOT the district or EACH.); There will be NO changes to the current health benefit plans for Educational Assistants in Cherry Hill. Cherry Hill does not currently participate in the State Health Benefits Program and therefore is not impacted by any changes to that system.
